About us

Archivo Hispalense, is a historical, literary, and artistic magazine, published and edited by Diputacion de Sevilla (Provincial Council of Seville). It began its publication in 1886, by the Society of Sevillian Bibliophiles (Hispalense Archive Society), publishing four volumes between 1886 and 1888. Since 1943, it has been a scientific magazine edited by the Archive Service and Publications of the Provincial Council of Seville. Currently, its frequency is annual.The magazine focuses on original articles aimed to improve knowledge, encourage scientific debates, and promote the development and diffusion of state-of-the-art investigation in the field of history, literature, and art as well as other cultural aspects of Sevilla, its province, and its ancient kingdom, without chronological limit.
